Memorial Day 2021
We ripped off our masks and partied like it was 2019 this weekend, chilling with the cousins, Uncle Kevin and Aunt Kathy in Syracuse. Watched cars with big, wide wheels turn left for three hours in Indianapolis and then watched cars that are really just mobile billboards turn left for 600 MILES in Charlotte. Yes, Uncle Abel had control of the remote! When not stuffing our faces with burgers, dogs, ribs and all the trimmings, the kids played holey board in the backyard and I even made time for a 5-mile jog after our late lunch/early dinner. This morning we tried to do a Costco run since we don't have that marvelous retailer here in Albany, but it turns out the kings and queens of warehouse shopping actually get this holiday off! So we returned home for a leisurely afternoon planting tulips (more on that later this week) and staining the mailbox post. Now the evening is upon us and it truly does feel like the end of something and the beginning of something else. I'm back in the office tomorrow, 9-5. Got three new pairs of khakis and some new Sperrys like the first day of school!
