Day 2 we pedaled the famous "Going to the Sun" road in Glacier National Park. Out van shuttle had 13 bikes loaded on it. 12 of them were e-bikes. Guess who rode the one that was not? We climbed a little less than 3,000 feet over about 14 miles and then bombed back down. The weather was gorgeous and the road is car-free until mid-June, which is when the park crews typically have all the winter snow and rock falls cleared. We didn't get high enough to see any mountain goats or big horn sheep in the meadow visible from the top of the Continental Divide at Logan Pass (they closed the road about 2.5 miles from the peak due to avalanche risk), but we did encounter two black bears on the way up! You basically yield to them and wait until they amble off the road. The entire ride was just purple mountain majesty.
