Very, very big. Straight roads that run forever until mountains get in the way, then they switchback. Day 1 was a 6.5 mile hike halfway around Lake McDonald, with periodic views of the snow-capped high peaks. Tomorrow it's a 30-mile bike ride up to Logan Pass in those high peaks on the famous Going-to-the-Sun Road. Grateful to be able to do this and thankful to the fam back home for walking the dog and doing the dishes.

The glacial lake was very, very cold.

No bear sightings, but plenty of scat. It seems they use the same trails.

This guy was very, very hungry. Look at his ribs. Walked right across the trail about 5' in front of us.
