Old dog

Yeager had his annual check-up yesterday and the news, while not great, is not dire. Big Boy gained about 10 lbs. in the last year, probably because he eats every scrap of roadkill and quite a bit of other street detritus while on walks. One solution is to cut his treats in half after he does something worthy of praise. Apparently the dog doesn't know how much he's eating, just that he's rewarded. Lumps on his belly are just fatty deposits and nothing to worry about. His narcotics dose that prevents seizures is in the therapeutic zone. Lupus is a progressive disease and will just march on. So far, so good. Swollen nose when he's outside in the sun too long. Doctor's orders: Keep up the long walks and try to get him to do some more vigorous exercise once or twice a day. Easier said than done, when this is how he acts now half the time on walks.
