Lincoln received an A+ in his Level VI NYSSMA solo this weekend, which also served as an audition for August's "All-State" music ensembles. We'll know later this year if he's selected for one of those, but we're really proud of the effort he put in to learning the piece during his weekly private lessons and a couple rehearsals with his piano accompanist. Unfortunately, NYSSMA policy doesn't allow parents in the room to listen and/or record performances, so we can only tell you that through the classroom door he sounded great! I still don't think I've heard all four movements of "Tableaux de Provence" played from start to finish, but he obviously did enough to impress the judge, who was liberal with her exclamation points in her written comments:"Very agile movement, facility, and expression! ... Outstanding rustic dance! Super clarity in your articulation, great accents, quick dynamics and mood shifts!"
