When Lincoln first learned to talk, I used to ask him if his middle name was Monster or David. He never gave me an answer, so I still sometimes address him with the conjunction. Is he a Monster or a David? Only he can decide, someday, but whatever he is, it's been 16 years. SIXTEEN! This morning, he consumed a Boston Creme donut and opened his presents before Grandma Vickie traveled back to Syracuse. No car keys, but he did get an Apple Watch SE, multiple flying discs, and a new Xbox controller.
He didn't want any other birthday fanfare, but did have two friends over yesterday during Greta's graduation party and as it waned, they hatched a plan to go to Dave & Buster's, which we spontaneously did. It was nice to finally spend a little bit of time with Sean and Cooper, who are frequent Xbox companions but until yesterday were mostly just names to me.
