The best laid plans, as they say.... Niskayuna's two middle schools pooled their PTO funds and rented out the Jericho Drive-In last night to play a 30-minute video wishing all the 8th graders good luck in high school and featuring photos of them all set to music performed by the schools' choirs. A great idea, until the thunderstorm. This was our view of the screen.
But it wasn't raining when we departed the house and Lincoln managed to manufacture one smile for his mother.
The marquee looked impressive at the drive-in, and I treated myself to a sugar-free raspberry "whip." It was not worth it.
Regardless of the weather, we certainly are proud of our son. It was a very trying year, to say the least, but we are blessed that both our children adapted fairly well, stayed mostly focused, and continue to climb the academic ladder. If you really, really want to, you can watch the video the schools put together here.

Really like the marquee. Congratulations Lincoln!
