Mine is among this blog's most faithful readers, so I hope I don't embarrass him too much with this post, but I recently reconnected with my old college pal Kipp and we spent 75 percent of an hour-long FaceTime chat talking about the falling out he's had with his father. I won't bore readers with details, but it's awful enough so that on the cusp of retirement from a globe-trotting career with USAID, he's now giving up on his dream of inheriting the family's blueberry farm in Vermont. All of which is to say I cherish my father and consider myself blessed that we've always had a relationship defined only by love and support for one another. Happy Father's Day!
