Gone fishin'

You think living with the uncertainty of a pandemic is hard? Imagine being a fish, swimming along in your habitat, you notice a worm or something sparkly in the water, you shimmy closer, and WHAP!, a hook tears through the side or top or bottom of your mouth, and you start being pulled in a different direction...

Well, that's how we spent a couple hours on Memorial Day on the banks of Nine Mile Creek outside Camillus. Three fish were caught -- by Greta, by Grandma and by Uncle Abel. One was thrown back and a couple were frozen for future frying. All were trout, I think. Anyway, some iPhone portraits of my 3 anglers and a couple of their catches.

  1. Kim watched Gordon Ramsey's MasterClass segment on fish the other night. So, if you need someone to fillet and prepare the fish, I'm sure she would do a fine job.

  2. Alas, we left them at Grandma's. After fileting they were probably two-bite fish! 6", max.
