His mother says the blog is lacking posts about him. I think I've stated this before, but our almost 13-year-old son is nothing if not a creature of habit. He leaves himself 15-20 minutes in the morning to get dressed, have breakfast, and get out the door to band or chorus rehearsal. He goes to school, gets home off the bus about 3:45, bangs out his homework (straight As in almost everything, working to get his B up in Math), and then plays video games online with friends until 5:30. (Current faves: Overwatch, Destiny, Apex Legends, Brawlhalla.) If we're lucky, we keep him out of the basement after dinner, but much depends on the weather, family shows available on TV (latest fave --  "Cheers" on Netflix -- still funny after almost four decades, but decidedly not #MeToo) and his shower schedule. Note for posterity: Our pre-teen is not a big shower guy. Would probably only do it twice a week if we weren't always reminding him. Thankfully, puberty is not yet in full bloom, so the house smells fine. When he's not in the basement, he has white cords dangling out of his ears. (He is accepting donations to an AirPod fund. Checks or cash to our home address. No PayPal or Venmo or Cash App, sorry.) YouTube videos of others gaming are still popular, as are anything that points out hilarious memes or other irregularities about life on planet earth. All that connectivity does keep him up-to-date on stuff. He seems to know all the new popular songs and when movies are being released. We are working hard to help him distinguish fact from fiction and drilling it into him that his generation will need to constantly be aware of digital fakes and not accept anything online at face value.
