Given our new geography, we figured we had to spend a day at the Saratoga Race Track before summer turns to fall. Naturally we picked the last and hottest day of the season. So we only watched three races and placed just one bet. We picked the 7 horse, Bandwagon, because he was chomping at the bit in the paddock and looked ready to run. Well, he neither won, nor placed, nor showed -- placed seventh, in fact -- so we lost $5.
But we weren't all losers. The kids each won a round of Bouncing Twister! They chose to save their $1 purse and not gamble it away.
