The table setting was two short this year, with the oldest Merrill and Girard children out of the country -- Max because, well, he lives and studies in Finland now, and Greta because, well, she had the chance to hang out in Copenhagen and Berlin this week with friends who are also studying overseas. They missed out on an excellent chicken curry from Chef Peter on Saturday evening, a fine stroll through the last outdoor Schenectady Farmer's Market of the season, and a fair bit of football on the television. Mom and Dad stuck around until today, when they're heading south to spend the holiday in Rye. We're off to Syracuse to celebrate with Carey's side of the family. Eat turkey, everyone.
