Let it be known and hereby recorded that Greta Corleen Merrill is the inaugural Star of the Week in Mrs. Mendez's kindergarten class at Marshall Elementary School. We got the news Friday night in Greta's bulging backpack. Inside was a bear named Teddy with a note attached. Inside her homework folder were a lot of other notes. Teddy was not quite Flat Stanley, but Greta was instructed to fill out a questionnaire about herself and to fill two pages of the new "Star of the Week" journal with drawings and stories about what she did with Teddy. Full disclosure, she was sitting on my lap when she answered the "Who do you admire?" question. But we sure do admire her and are awfully proud of our big girl. Greta, dear, you ARE a Star!! I enjoyed looking at your notebook and lovely drawings with regard to your spending time with Teddy. I think he is a VERY CUTE teddy!
