Probably not yet, but it's an inevitable walk to paradise at some point! Yeager pulled up lame last night and limped around the house this morning. Because we have disposable income, we ran him to the vet, who diagnosed him with anaplasmosis -- a tick-borne illness he's tested positive for since we first adopted him in 2016 -- and prescribed a pain reliever and increased steroid dose for his right shoulder. He should be walked on a leash up and down stairs so he doesn't go too fast and fall. Lumps on his shoulder and foreleg are just fatty issues. "He is old and lumpy," was the vet's quote. Carey says he was anxious in the examination room, which I interpret as canine awareness of his own mortality.
