Our hearts go out to Grandma Vickie and Grandpa Larry, whose beloved black lab Mandy passed away at home this week. We really consider her our kids' first dog, since she was just a puppy when Greta was a toddler and was born the same year as Lincoln. She was never far from your side when you visited Syracuse, but she also somehow was never a nuisance. Just sort of omnipresent, like the best canine companions. Always there when needed but never a bother. She'd flop down in the middle of the kitchen floor and everyone would just step around her. In her younger years, she was a very good fetcher, which the kids always appreciated, and which Yeager could stand to learn a thing or two about. Here are some photos Greta framed for Grandma and Grandpa last Christmas, when we knew Mandy's health was starting to fail. RIP, Mandy.
