All those 7am drop-offs for Rocketry Club apparently paid off! Next on the club's agenda -- figuring out how to use smart phones to make videos! Greta tells me the rocket was retrieved, Mommy tells me they were foolish to set it off near a parking lot where it could have damaged vehicles. Greta will use the comments to fill readers in about the rocket. I'd like to know what it was made out of, what propellant they used, was there anything particularly challenging during the construction? And do they know anyone in Iran? Apparently they also like to launch rockets that don't really do anything. Don't worry, my fellow Americans, all is well.
Mommy actually said "maybe next time the launch isn't near parked cars?! sorry...risk mitigation is my forte"...

ReplyDeleteThe rockets that we launched were model rockets because, the club decided that as their were only two returning members (the rest graduated,)and a lot of freshmen we wanted to get a feel for how launch procedure works and the components of a rocket before we began to build larger scale rockets as well as possibly receive our level one certification. We used A6-2 motors instead of the stronger motors we were planning on using because there was a slight breeze. For all of you risk mitigators: The breeze was within an acceptable range (below 20mph) and considered safe to launch.
