Voracious

Greta's been known to blow through a Harry Potter or Twilight or Percy Jackson book in a day, but until recently Lincoln would rather watch a show or play a video game. Enter Eragon. Or, really, enter fourth grade. Mrs. Brys required all her students to read for a minimum of 20 minutes each night and record the book, page numbers read, and duration. A nice way to keep them engaged, we thought. Until the last day of school when their in-class math homework was to go back in their assignment books and ADD all the minutes read for the whole school year! Turns out Lincoln David Merrill is a pretty voracious reader himself. He was easily tops in his class, by a factor of thousands, with 10,657 minutes read. For those of you into math, that's 177.62 hours or 7.4 days! Way to go, kid.
