Looong week

Carey depressed me the other day when she figured out there are 4 full work weeks until Christmas.

Well, now there are only three.

This one was particularly long for both of us. Carey remains in the final throes of a potential job transition within her company. Leaving the litigation management of insurance claims and joining the company's legal office. She's interviewed with six different people so far and is now just waiting for an offer. Fingers crossed, as she really seems to want it.

I spent the week planning for awards season (the AP will be going live this year from the People's Choice Awards, Screen Actors Guild Awards, Grammys and Oscars) and screening a pair of buzzed-about films. Highly recommend "Zero Dark Thirty," the big-budget account of the hunt and eventual killing of Osama bin Laden. Hard to know what's real and what's Hollywood, but it sure does make you proud to be an American! Lukewarm on "The Hobbit." Just felt too similar to all the "Lord of the Rings" movies and I've never been a huge prequel fan. If the stories were so good all along, tell 'em in order!

Anyway, one camera phone picture to share. Carey snapped it last night as Greta read to Lincoln by flashlight in their "fort" before they both passed out on her floor.

Looking forward to a relaxing family weekend.
