A very Merry Christmas

The holiday train keeps rolling along -- we're in Syracuse as I type, watching waves of snow pile up on the ground -- but I've been remiss posting photos from Tuesday morning. The kids were very civil, sleeping until about 8. We split the present opening into two parts, before and after a pecan French toast casserole created by Carey from her sister Chris' recipe. The big gifts were Skylanders Giants for Lincoln and an American Girl doll bed and pet (Licorice, the cat) for Greta.

For me, it was a Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 lens and an authentic "Survivor" hat as worn by Jeff Probst on the granddaddy of reality TV shows, and for Carey it was an iPhone, a trio of pajamas, and lots of fuzzy socks.

Not a bad haul, but nothing compared to having our family healthy and happy this time of year.

Posing for a quick photo before tearing into the presents.
Greta got another joke book and regaled us with a few at the dinner table later that night. "What happened to the ghost who fell down? He got a boo-boo."
A glow-in-the-dark stomp rocket set from Grandma and Grandpa. We couldn't get them to glow in the dark that evening, but we did lose one on the roof!

My wish for Lincoln: That he always find something in life to make him as happy as a new video game on Christmas morning.
For a photographer there was a lot of this -- blurry little people in the foreground.

There are no words.

We haven't dug into it yet, but are looking forward to some word de-scrambling.

Another Skylander Giant! For posterity, he got 6 -- three giants and three series 2 figures. Ask him about them some time; he'll tell you ALL about it.

I can't recall this conversation, but I like the shot.
An American Girl doll charm. "Strong," I believe.

Hello, new lens!
Greta shows off her "love pearl" -- it's a little peach, a little lavender.

Modeling their Turbie towels.
Late afternoon, helping Grandma make a word on her iPad.
