More party photos

Carey pulled off another fabulous house party this weekend, much to the delight of 12 first grade girls, a kindergartner, and three siblings, including her brother. The festivities began with an indoor picnic featuring a menu designed by the birthday girl: Cream cheese and jam or ham and cheese finger sandwiches, purple knox blocks, a fruit platter and cheese puffs.

Hunger abated, the guests focused their concentration on a sun catcher craft that turned out to be much more challenging than the party planner anticipated. But patience was rewarded and the crafts turned out lovely.

By then the rain clouds had lifted and the girls were unleashed on the backyard with stuffed balloons to stomp (each got a necklace and a ring for their trouble) and ribbon wands to wield.

The wands were a big hit and resulted in a parade around the block.

Then it was time for cake, made entirely from scratch, natch.
