4th birthday, observed (morning)

The fun hasn't really started yet. Mom and Grandma are in the kitchen preparing the typical food for a 4-year-old's party -- BBQ chicken, Texas caviar, spinach salad (with pears, toasted almond and asiago cheese), cornbread casserole and a fruit plate. Whatever happened to hot dogs and cake?!?

Greta and I are on the couch watching any early birthday present -- Pinocchio on blu-Ray. Lincoln moves between the kitchen and living room, mouth stuffed with strawberries.

I got a haircut this morning and we're praying for no rain at 4 p.m. Plan is to head to a local park (called a "reservation" in this part of N.J. An ode to our Indian ancestry?) 14 kids RSVPd with assorted parents and older siblings.

Uh-oh, Pinocchio just became real. Gotta go.
