You know me, just a sucker for sports of any kind, even when it involves seeing your kid running outdoors for a total of about 20 seconds! The first cross country "race" of the season on Saturday was a weird format -- relay teams of three, each kid running about 1.5 miles and passing a "sash" that they created. Linc did his 1.5 mi. in about 10:15. He declared it lackluster afterwards, but he and his friends James and Sam placed 15th out of 30th in the varsity boys division, so a promising start! There's another race today, but apparently the Tuesday races are going to be used by our coaches more as practices and the only races where they'll "compete" (i.e., try and get the best time from start to finish) are on the weekends. Like I said, weird sport.
