Pretty Pergola

We have a vine that shows great determination each spring, creeping up the trellis on the pergola and winding its way across the top.

It is a lush green throughout the summer and then greets us with a shocking white super-bloom the first morning after nighttime temps drop below 50.

That happened last week, and Mittens especially loved gazing at the flowers and watching insects and birds have fun among the blossoms.  Unfortunately I wasn't quick enough with my iPhone to capture the beautiful blue jay that he watched enjoy breakfast. Hopefully we'll spot it again before the flowers disappear.
