Lincoln day-tripped to NYC on Saturday with the Niskayuna German Club to participate in the German-American Steuben Parade. He recruited six of his non-German-speaking friends to join him so that they could fill the bus that left at 0:dark:30. In addition to the march up Fifth Avenue, he enjoyed some time in Central Park before returning home. These images are ripped from the Instagram account of the German club.
Meanwhile, left to my own devices, I found myself in a salon chair getting talked into highlights! Never had them before and not sure I will get them again, but it was fun to be pampered. I also enjoyed taking care of our neighbor's dog, Bo, while they were out of town... a fraction the size of Yeager, it felt like walking an empty leash!
As for Greta, she enjoyed "Night Monumenting" with friends. It is a pretty regular occurrence for groups from the many colleges and universities to converge on the Mall after dark and take in the sites. Greta and her friends all agreed to phone home during the outing, so parents could enjoy the views as well.
