Carey, Greta and I enjoyed a lovely afternoon on Lake George Saturday with Greta's now retired sixth grade teacher, Mr. Pletman. Carey has kept in touch with him via Facebook and whether it's true or
not (I think it is; no reason to doubt him), he holds Greta in high
esteem after teaching her six years ago. After a 30+ year career teaching grade school and middle-school English, the New York State Teachers Retirement Fund served him well and he has a condo in Glens Falls, a boat at the Harris Bay Yacht Club in Lake George, and a rental property/winter place in Hilton Head. To be fair, it's one of the smaller boats on Lake George, but it comfortably sat four as we motored six miles down the lake before eating dockside at a restaurant called the Algonquin.

The Sagamore in Bolton's Landing -- a pricey Adirondacks resort. The Internet tells me Rachael Ray once managed a pub on the property!

South Lake, this is not. There is a LOT of money in America.
