1,300 miles later we are back home after our Spring Break trip that went Niskayuna --> Syracuse --> Washington, D.C. --> Carlisle, Pa. --> Syracuse --> Niskayuna! The final day in D.C. was spent at American University, as Greta was wooed by everyone from the university president to the dean of the School of International Service. After the Admitted Students Day we met up with the Winthrops at Nationals Park and watched the hometown team blow a 3-0 lead to the Cleveland Guardians. We left before dawn on Saturday to drive two hours to Dickinson College so Greta could see the place before turning down their scholarship. Beautiful campus, but their liberal arts focus on catering to everyone didn't appeal to her, I don't think. In contrast, AU's SIS program really hyped up all the ways they help students contribute to the global community. All of that is a long way of saying I think we'll be making a deposit to American soon!
