Weekend in Rodman

We met Sara and the cousins (Pete stayed home not feeling well) in Rodman on Saturday for a belated holiday gift exchange and a side trip to a "Kaffeeklatsch" remembering Dad's snow sculpting partner/artistic mentor Klaus Ebeling on Sunday. I didn't get the phone out much to take photos, despite thinking we need a new group photo of this side of the family given how much everyone has grown, but below are a few shots. We watched a lot of football (and I fared quite well on FanDuel, earning about $60 on a few different bets, or just enough to buy lunch at Jrecks on Sunday), did quite a few crosswords, and played quite a few other games [Rummikub, Smart A** (trivia) and Taboo]. Max is now back for second semester of his junior year at Hamilton and the other three cousins head back to school tomorrow for a solid stretch until Feb. break.

Dinner at the Adams Country Club Satruday night (nee Tomacy's -- yes, Ryan, it looks pretty much exactly the same!)

Dad will never be a top notch Taboo player, I'm afraid.  But Lincoln enjoys buzzing him when he says the forbidden words!

At some point during the 49ers/Seattle game.

Nephew Ryan and great niece Alayna stopped by Monday morning for a quick breakfast and gift exchange.

  1. Important to point out Dad/Grandpa's clean shaven face in comparison to his Christmas pic. Makes it easier to see his smile!
