That was one of the essay prompts that Greta answered in her University of Chicago application. Saturday morning she read it to the woman who inspired it -- after baking a pecan pie, of course. She declined to share a line or two with me for this post, however. Says it will be too out of context. Maybe she'll consent to reprinting the whole thing if she gets accepted?
