Carey and I joined the volunteer team from the Niskayuna Mountain Goats bike team Sunday morning to staff the water station at the 10K mark of Schenectady's annual 15K road race, the Stockade-athon. Astute blog readers will recall that Carey ran the race in 2019 without any training and that fact still amazes me today. We vowed to run it together next year, health willing. We let the kids sleep in, but enjoyed hanging with a few of the other parents and cheering on the runners. Large active events like that are always so inspiring. Hard to believe some of those folks can move themselves 9.3 miles without help. The winner, though, he went by first in a blur, eschewing our offers of water and clocking an average mile pace of 4:56. Zoom, zoom!

This is my colleague Joe, who manages Information Technology at PEF. Came in 225th+ with an average pace of 8:51! He really wants me to try it next year.

This is my gorgeous, almost 51-year-old spouse, waiting for her quiche after the race.

In the afternoon Phyllis came over to watch the Bills and Giants games. She's always such good luck -- not for the Bills, but for exciting, televised football!

Carey cooked some sort of new squash chili that was amazing. Or at least the adults thought so!
