South Lake summer redux

We made the 2-hour trip northwest Friday after work for a weekend respite. The highlight, for me, was completing the 12-mile bike loop from the Ice Cave Mountain parking lot at the end of North Lake, over to Honnedaga Lake, down the hill to North Lake (passing South Lake) and around all the campsites back to the parking lot.  The girls begged off after our lunch break at camp, but Lincoln and I completed the loop.  Beautiful double-wide carriage roads that still look to be in fairly regular use.  No clear signs of current logging visible, though, so maybe it's just park ranger/DEC stuff?  The route from Ice Cave to Honnedaga was gated, though, so you can't drive a motorized vehicle without a key.

Our view of the girls on the long climbs.  :-)

Lincoln gets the "King of the Mountains" polka dot jersey, for sure.  He was always waiting for me at the top of each climb.
