7th birthday, observed

It'll go down in the annals as the least planned birthday party for our children ever. Carey and I realized on June 14 that Lincoln hadn't articulated any plans for his celebration. So invites were sent via texts to four of his pals, all of whom showed up with their siblings. A Lord of the Rings/Sauron cake was baked, a dozen cans of silly string were purchased, water balloons were inflated, and a dodgeball court was demarcated in the backyard. Presto -- party!
