Proof of life!
We exercised incredible parental restraint and did not FaceTime Lincoln until the one-week mark of his college career on Saturday. We caught him just before he and about eight other young men were settling down to play Magic: The Gathering in one of the dorm lounges. He was a bit manic, but I'm attributing that to the fact that we surprised him with our video call and he is generally just happy having made lots of new friends. He said he would like us to send him ramen, he successfully did his laundry, and he and some of his new friends ate a "whole duck" at a Chinatown restaurant. Carey asked him to keep the streak alive and take a photo on his first day of classes and he sent this one. Only one class on Monday afternoons called the "Purpose of Business," so I don't think he'll be too underwater with reading and assignments just yet. Heads up, kid, the purpose of business is to make money in this country, and it may just be the root of all our problems. So get yours. 😀
