Crime scene

Cute, right? Who doesn't love that face? Hold your judgment.

Readers are well aware that our nest is empty. But we do still have two animals to parent, and it seems they are well aware of that. After a normal day at home following 10 days at Grandma's Summer Camp, Yeager decided to do this to one of his dog beds in our bedroom.

Is it a cry for help? A lonely yawp from a senior dog who misses his people so much? Is it because, as previously documented, Mittens rubbed his scent all over most of the dog beds while Yeager was away?

Do we have to hire a dog sitter/walker between the hours of 8-12 and 1-5 when I'm not in the house? Does a grandparent need to move in with us full-time, requiring a bathroom addition on the main level? Or does one of us have to quit our lucrative job and stay home permanently with our pets? When that happens, do one or both of the kids have to withdraw from college because we can no longer afford it?
