Carey and I are quite proud of Greta, for a variety of reasons, as she embraces her college experience. But near the top of that list has to
be her willingness to explore the city that
was central to why she picked American University in the first place.
She and her friends make a point to leave campus every weekend, whether
it's just to study at a coffee shop or visit a flea market or check out a
museum or walk around the National Mall. As readers of this blog know, I
have strong opinions about the cost vs. value of higher education these
days, but one thing we do get our money's worth on is the unlimited
Metro/bus pass that is built into her AU tuition!
