Greta, Carey and I joined Greta's friend Elise and her Dad last night at Saratoga Performing Arts Center to watch The Chicks in concert. Hard to believe it was more than 25 years ago that they burst on the scene with their defiant anthems and we're-not-afraid-to-call-out-America's-bullshit attitude. Not hard to believe in these corporate United States, the company that was pressured to drop them from the radio for their anti-Iraq war stance, Clear Channel, became iHeartMedia, which spun off a subsidiary called Live Nation, and they are the money behind just about every live touring show on the road today (yes, including The Chicks). But the music was fun, the pot smell wasn't too awful, and Carey and Greta sang the encore.
