Driving to a dog walk yesterday we were amazed to spot a BALD EAGLE sitting on the side of the road! Upon closer inspection, he was keeping a wary eye on some roadkill -- maybe he killed it, maybe a car did -- but he must have been hungry, because after our dog walk neither the bird nor the rodent was there!
How big are bald eagles? Are they about the same size as turkey vultures?
ReplyDeleteYes, pretty impressive birds. He took flight just after this photo. I'd say wingspan of 4-6'.
