We started it at VFW Mohawk Post 1450, where they have a reserved parking spot for the most important veteran.We all listened as a succession of white men took the mic and told us to remember those who gave all. They even quoted Ronald Reagan and Toby Keith, inarguably two of the most influential Americans here in upstate New York.
But Carey got her poppy from Flanders Field and it was nice to remember when the U.S. stood for Freedom and was not, to borrow another f-word the kids learned tonight during our screening of Saving Private Ryan, FUBAR.
