Mutter Tag

A fine Mother's Day here in the Lower 48. Started with a two-mile, full-family dog walk in the morning to Starbucks, then Carey enjoyed a few hours in the garden by herself -- transplanting lilies and seeding the almost-empty bed. We went to lunch at Annabelle's Cafe in Rotterdam, which reminded Carey and me of every mom-and-pop place we ever ate at growing up (Flip's, Applewood, little bit of Barbies). From there, the plan was to drive downtown for the annual Tulip Festival, but we got frustrated by traffic and turned around. Puttered away the afternoon finishing up yard work and taking Yeager to the dog park. Ended the evening with a screening of "Phantom Thread" after the kids were in bed. Sadly, we couldn't make it to the end and have 30 minutes to watch tonight before we owe Redbox another $2.15!
