Whatever talent my kids have with a paint brush or a crayon, they got through this guy. Grandpa Jerry is one of the featured artists at the North Country Arts Council's gallery in Watertown this month. They held a reception in his honor Friday night and I was lucky enough to have the day off to make the trip up to Rodman. He held quite a few of my favorite paintings out of the show, for fear someone would offer him $5,000 and he'd have to part with it. But what was on display was a nice mix of landscapes and portraits showing his range over the decades. Needless to say, I'm exceedingly proud of him and have a house full of paintings to prove it.
