Low bridge, everybody down...

The Baileys came to visit for their long Memorial Day weekend yesterday. They arrived in time for breakfast and after filling our bellies we went for a hike in the Lisha Kill preserve near Lock 7 of the Erie Canal. Before tromping through the woods, we watched a pleasure boater and a kayaker move through the lock. It took about 15 minutes to raise and lower the boats 27 feet. Pretty remarkable feat of engineering for a gang of European workers with little education.
