Carey and Greta snuck off to the north woods on Saturday for their first overnight scouting trip. Hidden Lake, somewhere in the vicinity of Lake George. I'm told they went on a hike that was probably a little harder than it should have been for a dozen 10-12-year-olds and their three out-of-shape chaperones, cooked a couple meals on the campfire (quesadillas and firecracker chicken sandwiches), whittled 'smores sticks, built fairy houses, and woke up Sunday morning to a light dusting of snow outside the lodge.
Meanwhile, Lincoln and I enjoyed a guy's weekend -- bought new gear for the baseball season, played a couple hours of Donkey Kong Country on the Wii, watched the fourth installment of the fantastic "Transformers" franchise, spent an hour at Dave & Buster's cashing in a Discover gift card, and ate at a car-hopped Sonic for the first time.
