Albany isn't New York. Let's get that out of the way. But it has a certain charm. There's funky art on the walls even though there's no subway. There are park benches and statues all over the place. And then there are the people -- politically-minded strivers who dream about making it in New York. And folks like us, who fled New York at the first lucrative opportunity.
