While Rob Is Away...

Rob has been in LA since last Thursday, and I just know the grandparents are having slight withdrawal symptoms without a blog update. So here is my meager attempt to fill you all in. I returned from Philadelphia Thursday evening to an under-the-weather Lincoln, who spiked a fever that night and stayed home from school on Friday.

Fortunately the fever was gone in 24 hours, and it appears a day of rest and unlimited tv was all he needed to recover for a fun-filled weekend with Emma and Jack. With Anneli and Kira in Sweden, Damond and I made our single-parenting lives easier by having mega play days on Saturday and Sunday. Greta even scored a sleepover at the new Bailey abode, proudly sleeping in the top bunk without falling off. The boys played lots of fuss ball, wii, and bay blades, while the girls concocted potions, built a Lego city, made play dough, and baked chocolate chip banana bread. They combined efforts for many rounds of hide-and-seek and some role playing game where they turned into wolves...lots of howling during that hour.

A lovely "warm" sunny Sunday took us all to the massive snowpile at Our Lady of Sorrows for some sledding and a kids-versus-parents snowball fight. With Steve and Sarah leading our charge, the grownups emerged victorious.

Rob returns late Wednesday, hopefully bringing some California sunshine with him!
