Celebration Saturday

With Dec. 13 marking the start of the 12 days of Christmas, we kicked things into high gear on Saturday. First it was off to Maplewood's Dickens Village to check out Scrooge and Cratchit's houses.

Then it was off to Cait & Abbey's in South Orange, the Kosher bakery that sells a lot of Challah this time of year, where we met up with the Haydens and the McVetys.

Sugar-sated, we crossed the street to the fire station, where Santa and a saxophonist were holding court, where Lincoln hitched a ride with the big kids in the truck bay, and where Carey met up with Carla, whose hair color she stole about two months ago.

Santa then hopped in a fire truck and we walked behind his escort about a quarter mile up South Orange Avenue to light the town Christmas Tree.
