We hopped aboard an eastbound train on Saturday for a visit to the American Museum of Natural History. Spent some time in the land of the butterflies and spent waaaay too much time at
Whales: Giants of the Deep. Not a picture in the latter. The Maori people of New Zealand consider all those whale bones a nautical cemetery and have empowered the security guards to smash cameras the way my grandfather used to stomp on squirt guns.
Anyway, the kids seem to have inherited their mother's sense of thoroughness when visiting museums -- not a video went unwatched or a placard unread.

| Bubbling with anticipation while waiting for the A train. |

| Thinking about licking the subway pole. |

| Girl with Mule Deer. |
 |
| Flutterby specimens. |
 |
| Waiting for one to land on her; happened only sporadically and never for long. |
 |
| They would land on Lincoln's shirt, never his welcoming finger. |
