Lincoln's 6th, observed

We talk about birthday parties around here as soon as the last one ends. That's partly because who doesn't love a party where everyone is celebrating YOU and partly because Carey has earned a reputation as an ace party planner.

This year, Lincoln chose to invite his friends to the pool for pizza, games and swimming. First, it was a Sonic the Hedgehog obstacle course. Through the hula hoops, around the cones, hop on the foam plates, through the tunnel...

After that, it was a water balloon toss and a race through the obstacle course with a water balloon balanced on a spoon.

Lunch was pizza and fruit and carrots and chocolate covered pretzels, followed by the American Lifeguard Association-mandated 10 minute rest and all in the pool! I had too much fun playing with Linc and his friends to worry about taking photos, but got one of Greta jumping off the diving board. We're working on the jumping part. She just walks off the end and throws her legs up behind her.

When everyone was sufficiently wet for photos, we served up Carey's pride and joy, a Sonic the Hedgehog birthday cake!
