Catching up

Apologies for the paucity of posts. I kicked bronchitis just in time to get a stomach bug! Had a relaxing 40th birthday on Thursday, before the visits to the loo started. Finished the third book in George R. R. Martin's "Song of Ice & Fire" series (The first book is the basis of the HBO hit "Game of Thrones.), and journeyed into the city to watch Hugo in 3D and surround sound. After all the hype, I was pretty disappointed. It's quite slow, and while visually stunning, it just didn't strike me as a Best Picture candidate. Best director, maybe, just because the Academy loves Martin Scorsese.

Now it's Saturday and the big plan is to cut Greta's golden locks. She's donating 8" to some make-a-wig program. I'll be sure to post after pictures, but here's the before.
