The Feast of the Syracuse

We drove west in our sporty new CR-V hybrid on Wednesday and reconnected with Greta, who headed over on Tuesday with Grandma to bake pies in preparation. Thanksgiving began with a two-person Turkey Trot as Greta joined me for a 2.55 mile jog through Grandma's neighborhood. I've run an awful lot of miles in the last 3 years, but those 2.55 were probably the most enjoyable. It has been so wonderful having her home for a week.

The rest of the morning was spent watching the NYC parade (nice leather pants, Savannah Guthrie!) followed by the National Dog Show (the Great Dane was jobbed!). Food was served shortly after 2pm and included everything you've ever associated with Thanksgiving, plus ham (thanks, Allison!). We were on the road and home by 8 so Carey and I could "work" today.

The youngest "kid" at the kid table is 16.

Marcie, who did not compete in the dog show.

Greta's cracker and cheese plate.

Yeager, who would have destroyed the Hound category in Philadelphia.

Sage, who watched the National Dog Show with the rest of us.
