30th (31st) High School reunion

We zipped over to Sackets Harbor on Saturday to mark our high school graduation in 1990. Carey says about 30 people were there, including a handful of spouses. I think closer to 20. Anyway, nobody got their phones out once the conversation and drinking started, so no selfies from inside the venue. But we took one in grandma's bathroom after getting ready and another at dinner. The two guys I wanted to see most both took me aside separately and said our friendship was a pillar of their childhood and my house in Rodman was the place they always liked being the most, so that felt nice. Then again, they also had quite a few gin and tonics or vodka sodas in them at that point! But it was amazing how much we remembered from three decades ago. The jokes, the people, the things we're very glad social media didn't exist to preserve forever.
