My boss is out on maternity leave this spring, so I get daily text pics like this that keep me going.That's Justin Thomas Borthwick, born in Feb. Carey says I can't share his exact birthdate because Paul Manafort will give it to the Russians. We haven't met him in person yet, but Carey is threatening to put together a ready-bake lasagna that will give us an excuse to pinch his cheeks.
Greta's been busy with Girl Scouts stuff. Most recent outing was a QA& with an engineering firm in Troy. The girls built light-up whirligigs using a AA battery and magnets. Greta demonstrates:
I've claimed her safety glasses from the event for morning dog walks when the wind chill dips below 10 degrees.
Greta also went back to see her friends at the Bone & Joint Center. She's had a sore shoulder for weeks, maybe basketball related. But doc says she's just growing and has some bursitis. Personally I'm hoping for 6', but Carey says being tall makes boyfriending harder. I'm OK with that. Oh, the best part of the visit? The doc gave Greta a $2 bill! Apparently that's a tradition for him whenever he sees a young patient reading an actual book in the waiting room. In 2+ years of doing it, guess how many he's handed out? FIVE. We might go back and see him weekly just to get rich.
Mommy has found a new church -- the Eastern Parkway United Methodists. For those of you who follow such things they are a "reconciling" church -- meaning they are NOT following the international guidelines affirmed this year by the United Methodists that don't sanction gay marriage and prohibit gay clergy. Anywho, Carey helped plan their recent pancake supper on Shrove Tuesday. Bacon AND sausage. And some funky pancake flipping races. And the kids staffing a Mardi Gras mask booth.
We'll end with this -- Lincoln beginning to discover the joys of what cousin Matthew calls "the last true American art form" -- jazz.
